Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software and environments.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures with a strong understanding of disaster recovery strategies.
- Set up and manage database alerts, thresholds, and monitoring tools.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Unix/Linux command-line operations.
- Participate in and lead major incident troubleshooting efforts; proactively follow up on ongoing issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Identify opportunities for automation, resource optimization, and process improvement. Analyze recurring issues and drive root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement new tools, features, and enhancements.
- Manage daily change, incident, and problem management tasks while driving continuous improvement in processes and system availability.
- Design and manage secure storage structures for databases.
- Modify and optimize database structures to align with evolving business needs.
- Provide training and support to users for accessing and using database resources.
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues affecting database performance and integrity.
- Manage autonomous database backups and maintain backup schedules.
- Regularly review and update database security configurations and protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database design, development, and documentation best practices.
- Solid knowledge of SQL, backup and recovery systems, and database architecture.
- Familiarity with APIs and programming languages.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience enhancing monitoring dashboards and optimizing alerting systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to learning.
- Proficiency in Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with tools such as Ansible, GitHub, Python, Grafana, and Unix shell scripting is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud region-to-region migrations is a plus.
